i find the the central bear-shirted child to be a goldmine. something about his facial expression - i think it hints at some kind of adrift self-awareness behind his silly enjoyment - combined with that haircut. Am I overreaching? Also there's a definite vibe from the the tall recessed red-shirted man's hat. It's slightly crooked and almost pilgrim-like.
